Orange peel IPA - second try at getting some orange flavor in an IPA. Somewhat inspired by Hyllie bryggeri and their Hyllipan Apelsin

21l batch

  • 5,0kg Pilsner Malt
  • 0,3kg Melanoiden
  • 0,2kg Amber malt (60EBC)
  • 0,2kg Cara Pils

Mash in with 25l water

Mash 67c 65min
Sparge 7l water (78c)

Boil 60min

  • 15g Pekko (60min)
  • 15g Amarillo (15min)
  • Orange Peel from 3 oranges - No white stuff (Flameout)
  • 50g Amarillo (Arome hopstand 80c 15min)
  • Safale US05
  • 30g Amarillo (dry hop)
  • 30g Pekko (dry hop)
  • Orange Peel from 5 oranges - No white stuff (dry hop)
  • Orange Peel from 3 oranges - No white stuff (steel container in keg)

FG: 1,010

Notes:

Nice orange character and maybe the taste is more mandarin than orange. Likely the orange peel in the keg is the only thing that actually made a difference.
